The Easy Upload app is available to all life & health policy holders, annuity contract holders, and insurance agents/producers with a relationship to the ManhattanLife companies. Any device with a camera, an internet connection, and a modern browser can run it.
Using it is a simple as logging in, scanning some documents, entering detail about the documents, and finally uploading them to ManhattanLife. Follow the tabs above to learn more about each step.
When you are ready to install, you will find links to the Apple Store or the Google Play Store on the home page.
When the app first comes up, you will be asked to identify your role as a user (click images to enlarge):
This option does not require a website registration. And this option is not available for Annuity Producers (please use the Agent/Producer login option instead).
Two pieces of information are required:
Uploading as an insurance agent or annuity producer requires log in credentials. These are the same credentials you use for the Life & Health Resource Center (ARC) and/or Annuity Producer Center (APC). website:
If you have trouble logging in with these credentials on the app, go to website's link above to resolve the issue by resetting your password or registering.
After logging in, you will see the "hamburger" menu on the top right (more about that on the next tab). You can touch "View History" there to bring up the page that will list your last 50 uploads for review.
By default, applications are required to ask the user if it is okay to use the camera. Easy Upload needs camera access to scan and upload insurance documents. This prompt, or one like it, will be shown once you start to scan. Always answer "Allow", "Yes", or "OK" to this prompt when running Easy Upload since the application will not function properly without using the camera:
Sometimes concientious users will automatically or accidentally click "NO" or "Don't Allow" to keep their phones safe, etc. In this case the user can go into settings to reset these camera permission so that Easy Upload will work. Here are the steps for resetting this permission:
iPhone on Safari
iPhone on Chrome
iPad on Safari
iPad on Chrome
Android
After resetting camera permissions, please exit the app and go back in.
Once you've logged in, you will see the app's Home screen. Note that the screens look a bit different for policy/contract and agent/producer uploads. Generally though, this screen can help with what to do next.
If you've logged in as an agent/producer, it is possible that your user account is registered to sell both insurance policies and annuity contracts. If this is the case, you will be presented with a checkbox to choose between uploading insurance or annuity related documents.
At the top right, you will see the "hamburger" menu. Touch that and you will get links to use the app:
Along the bottom of the screen you will see some buttons:
Touch the "SCAN +" button to create a new page. When the scanner opens, the camera will look for a document to highlight. Once found, touch the blue button to snap the picture.
For best results, use these tips:
At the end of scanning, the document will be added to the collection of pages where they can be deleted if they don't look 'good'. When you have all the pages scanned as needed, click the Upload button to continue the process.
After clicking the upload button, a new page will prompt you for details. The page will look a bit different depending on whether you are uploading as a policy/contract holder or representative or an agent/producer, and whether you are uploading policy/contract documents or life & health enrollment applications.
The only thing needed to upload a document is to properly classify it. Check the checkbox next to the form type of the document. There are descriptions listed for each type to help you decide. Once this is done you can click the Upload button.
Touching the Upload button at the bottom causes the page images that you have assembled to be uploaded to the applicable ManhattanLife company where they will be merged into one PDF for processing.
